Finally and at long last, all of Yma Sumac's very first recordings are available all together in one place, fully remastered to near perfection. This project was many years in the making, scouring the world for copies of the original 78 rpm disks many of which have never been heard since the original releases in South America when they were recorded in 1943. The digital transfers, pre-mastering and production were done by SunVirgin.com, then professionally remastered by our state of the art studio, and the CD was manufactured in the U.K. in a very limited release.
The booklet itself is worth the price of the CD as it contains 16 pages of in-depth analysis of Yma Sumac during her formative years when she recorded under the name of Imma Sumack before ever coming to the U.S.. Details for each song are provided along with many never before seen photos of the period. There are 22 cuts in all including all 18 by Yma Sumac and several others by the musicians and soloists of the troupe.
